Open APPerture Short Film Festival Information

The Open APPerture Film Festival was created
by students at Appalachian State University in 2004.
The first festival took place in April of 2005 and was a success. A devoted group of students have carried
on the festival through the years and have formed the Appalachian Student Filmmaking Organization,
a club at ASU.
The club meets once a week during the
school year to plan for the annual festival.
The festival was created to give young filmmakers a voice, offering a theater in which their work can be shown in front of an audience.
The 2009 festival will be held March 26-28 in I.G. Greer and Greenbriar theaters on the campus of Appalachian State University. Tickets are $2 per showing or $5 for the entire festival. Showtimes are as follows:
Thursday, March 26th-7pm-I.G. Greer

Saturday, March 28th-1pm- Greenbriar
Saturday, March 28th-3:30 pm- Greenbriar
Saturday, March 28th-6 pm- I.G. Greer
An awards ceremony will be held in the solarim of the Plemmons Student Union following the final showing.
